Sheer Statement

31 July 2015

Hey peeps,
Sorry I've been away for a bit. Life got in the way. Here's a quick outfit I put together. I'm back in black again because to be honest I couldn't stay away for that long. My love for all things sheer and mesh has always been evident. The flow of the fabric is so lovely and whenever your feeling a bit naked this summer in your hot pants and crop tops, its a great cover up. This little mesh number can be worn as a cover up on the beach as well! This leather skirt is my fav, I basically wear it all year round. It's so cute and stylish and cost me £1 from a thrift shop. Good times. I am obsessed with this statement necklace which gives the outfit a gothic feel. I felt like Wednesday out of Adams Family (if I was anyone on the show... I would be her). Prancing around in this look made me feel kinda witchy like I could start a cult. To make the whole outfit a bit more casual I added some nike trainers because why not.

Dress - H&M
Bralet - Urban Outfitters
Skirt - Thrift shop in East London
Trainers - Nike
Socks - Primark

Broke with expensive taste: July Edition

24 July 2015

Hadn't even realised that it is nearly the end of July. Where has all the time gone?? Anyway, I thought I would start a series called 'Broke with expensive taste' telling you all about my favourites each month. Because I wish I could afford a new Prada bag every month but lets be realistic. Student life doesn't doesn't allow me to. Sad times. So lets get to it:

1. ASOSMARKETPLACE mesh undershorts // 2. H&M Playsuit // 3. ROKIT Dungarees // 4. WHISTLES Poloshirt  // 5.  MISSGUIDED ribbed dress // 6. &OTHERSTORIES buckle bag // 7. AMAZON Cactus // 8. RIVERISLAND heels // 9. LULUGUINNESS bag // 10. M&S t-shirt // 11. IKEA candle // 12. ESTY choker // 13. LULUGUINNESS coin purse // 14. LAMODA sunglasses // 15. THEBODYSHOP overnight serum
My wardrobe and life needs to an update. I am obsessed with these mesh undershorts, they give a cool 90s vibe and being a 90s baby that trend will never get old...

Girl in white

21 July 2015

Excuse my Marilyn moment, just chilling in an alleyway YALL.
I am not one to wear white clothes usually because they are ruined by the end of the day. But how can turn down this American Apparel combo really? Summer is in full swing and its time to dig out those whites. I love how this outfit makes me feel free, the minimal stripes keep it clean cut, balanced with this pleated skirt makes me a playful bunny. Can we please talk about these sandals. I'm in love. Nuff said. I am one for simple jewellery, I love a good pendant, when I was younger I used to pile it on (don't get me wrong I still do occasionally). But I've learnt a simplified outfit can still make a statement.

Hey Yall,

Just chilling in some trees lol.

Who said Tartan and crochet wouldn't work together. I am in love with all things charity shop. I am planning on doing a post about the best charity shops to hit up in London because who doesn't love a bargain. These beautiful cigarette trousers only cost me £6. I paired it with this crochet top for some summer vibes. The contrast of texture and colour compliment each other giving the outfit a bit of character. Being a short girl I sometimes like to add a bit of height, so these gorgeous heels are the icing on the cake (and surprisingly easy to walk in). An old favourite but if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Intro

15 July 2015

Hey peeps I wasn't really sure what to do for my first post, so let me tell you a bit about myself. My name is Vivien. I am currently studying Fashion Design at UCA Epsom. I'm based in London and Epsom and I have five rabbits and also very fond of charity shopping! Because who can refuse a bargain? Anyway ... I was too over excited to wait so I'll just dive straight into my first look.

I'm not one for summer clothes but black is my favourite colour. I just think it can be so versatile, clean and expresses so much without being overbearing. Layering in the summer can be tricky because of the (mostly) hot weather, but wearing this light mesh top underneath solves that. I’m also wearing this cute cat print skater skirt. Fishnet ankle socks and creepers add a grunge feel to the whole outfit. If you would like to find out more about me just visit my About page.
